Published Work
Medium. How Italian composer Ennio Morricone became the unsuspecting hero in my family’s story.
Atlanta Magazine. Set against the backdrop of the Chestatee River, five women, each with a fishing guide by her side, steady their feet on the riverbed and pitch back their arms. There’s a split-second, mid-air pause before their lines whip forward and are cast out, and their flies land in the current.
For each of these women, the normal flow of their lives was suddenly interrupted by the same diagnosis: cancer. They’ve battled stage I to stage III breast cancer and a rare blood cancer that struck one woman at the age of 26.
LitHub. Bestselling author Sue Grafton enriched my reading life and made me want to be a writer.
Thrive Global. When the snow falls at Christmas and the air feels like magic, let's pause and take a moment to be grateful.
Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Caleb Johnson’s debut novel ‘Treeborne’ spans decades and generations
Emory Magazine. In 1990, "Brotherman," was one of the first comic books to feature a black hero set in a mythological world of black characters. Almost three decades later, with help from Emory University's digital scholars, this groundbreaking text is being reimagined for a new generation.
Salon. We tried for years to help Dad see his favorite composer in concert. This time, we wouldn't be stopped.
Huffington Post. Just when dating felt like it was hard enough.
Huffington Post. Why Facebook’s new tool to allow people to share their status as organ donors on their timelines matters.
Longreads. In the face of tragic loss, Victoria Comella searches for the home she left behind, only to find it seventeen years later in the last place she expected.
